How To Choose A Cleanser For Acne Prone Skin
By Janice Wee
If you have acne, you need a cleanser that deals with the problem. Acne starts when pores get clogged with oil and dirt. Bacteria breeds in there leading to the inflammation that leads to acne. Your cleanser is the most important part of your skincare routine when it comes to acne prevention. A good acne cleanser gets rid of the excess oil, declogs the pores and kills the bacteria. It tackles acne before the pimples can even form. What to avoid: Some cleansers clog the pores. Typically, the cream cleansers or rich cleansers meant for drier skin are pore clogging culprits. Avoid those like plague. Instead, go for wash off cleansers. Foaming cleansers are best. The sort that you lather on and rinse off are ideal for acne prone skin. Facial soap and water works really well too. Next, look out for antibacterial ingredients like tea tree oil or triclosan. These kill the bacteria that causes acne. Finally, if your cleanser exfoliates the skin, it would definitely help unclog those pores. Go for cleansing scrubs. Cleansers with grainy bits that exfoliate are great. Cleansers that contain salicylic acid work too. In short, look out for cleansers that cleanse without adding oil, that kill the bacteria and which exfoliate the skin and you are on the path to clear healthy skin.
